Maraschino cherries with the stems
Pink or red icing in a tube
Drain the jar of cherries. Unwrap the chocolate kisses. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave in a glass measuring cup or over a double boiler.
To assemble, hold a cherry by the stem ad dip in the melted chocolate. While it is still warm, place the large end of the chocolate kiss on the cherry so that the stem looks like a tail. Working quickly while the chocolate is still warm, place 2 sliced almonds between the kiss and the cherry to resemble ears. Continue with the rest of the cherries. Allow the chocolate to cool and solidify. The final touch is to add two eyes and a nose with the red or pink icing.
